Researcher Uses Maps to Locate Mammography Screening Programs

Initiated by IUPUI Professor of Nursing Kathy Russell, the Mammography Outreach and Community Health Awareness project asked SAVI to create a map to identify which census tracts in Marion County are medically underserved.

YMCA Uses Maps to Locate New Facilities

The Indiana YMCA contacted the Polis Center to create a map of all current YMCA locations in the Indianapolis area. The YMCA was able to use the SAVI map to determine areas that were lacking in YMCA facilities, and to assist in strategic planning for future YMCA facility sites. As part of this project, the YMCA built a new facility in Hendricks County in 2011.

Using SAVI Home Mortgage Data to Understand the Indianapolis Housing Market

Affordable housing is an issue that concerns everyone. Central Indiana has not experienced the housing boom that affects other regions, especially in coastal areas, but costs are rising here as well. How affordable is housing for residents of the Indianapolis MSA? SAVI can help answer this question through data provided by the Home Mortgage Disclosure Act, a law that requires reporting of federally-guaranteed loans.
