Here is a look at the planned two-day program:

Keynote Speaker: Paul Schmitz

Keynote speaker Paul Schmitz joins us at the Indiana Nonprofit Summit Oct. 2. Schmitz is the former CEO of Public Allies and the author of Everyone Leads: Building Leadership from the Community Up. He joins us at the Summit to encourage everyone to lead in their community and demonstrate  that we can only make lasting change for our communities when citizens collaborate and take responsibility.

As a private volunteer, Schmitz co-chaired the 2008 Obama presidential campaign’s civic engagement policy group, was a member of the Obama-Biden Transition Team and was appointed by President Barack Obama to the White House Council on Community Solutions. Schmitz was also selected by The Rockefeller Foundation as a Next Generation Leadership Fellow and has been recognized by The Nonprofit Times as one of the 50 most influential nonprofit leaders in the country.

Human Needs Summit: October 1, 8:30 a.m.- 4:00 p.m.

The only event of its type in Indiana each year, the Human Needs Summit brings practitioners, researchers and thought leaders together in a series of collaborative working sessions to discuss trends, share best practices and brainstorm solutions related to the state’s most pressing areas of need in service sectors like Health, Education, Hunger and Housing.

Keynote Speaker and Skill-building Workshops: October 2, 9:30 a.m.- 4:30 p.m.

Following the keynote address, an entire day of Skill-Building Workshops will provide vital opportunities for professional and organizational development along six tracks: Funding/Finance, Marketing/Communications, Collaboration, Volunteerism, Strategic Planning, and Governance.
